Should Your Kid Learn English or Mandarin for the Future
Both English and Mandarin are widely spoken languages with significant global influence.
English is currently the dominant language of international business, science, and technology, and is widely used in many countries as a second language. It is also the most commonly used language on the internet and in popular culture, making it a useful language to know for international communication and travel.
On the other hand, Mandarin is the most widely spoken language in the world with over 1 billion speakers, and it is the official language of China, one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Knowing Mandarin can be advantageous for business and career opportunities in China and other parts of Asia, as well as for cultural exchange and understanding.
Ultimately, it depends on what futures you want for your children. If you plan for them to work or study in a field where English is commonly used or frequently travel to English-speaking countries, then learning English may be more beneficial for them. On the other hand, if you plan for them to do business in China or have an interest in Chinese culture and language, then learning Mandarin may be the better choice.
For now, if situation allows, learning both are the best option.
